         Korshontes’ mother has encouraged her to seek out positions in the medical field. To prepare for this, Korshontes has been active in both her school and her community.  Although she attends a rural school she has excelled in all of the pre AP and AP courses she was able to take. Korshontes Butts2She will graduate second in her class while participating in numerous activities including serving as drum major for four years, serving as class president, cheerleading, and helping care for her younger sibling. Korshontes has also won multiple awards for leadership for her academic and extracurricular activities.
         Korshontes plans to pursue a degree in the medical field and has been accepted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
