Courtney works at a TOPS mentoring program for at risk youth.
She is passionate about helping children increase their self esteem. She knows all to well how a bad home life can impact a young child. She has approximately 75 volunteer hours and raises her younger siblings, cooking, helping them with school work and doing the housework. She is the varsity cheerleader captain and participates in many school activities. Courtney has cared for her siblings since she was nine. Her parents divorced when she was 6 months old. Her letters of recommendation state that Courtney could have easily chosen to be a "bad kid" and fallen into the trap of addiction -- instead she has involved herself heavily in community service.

"She is caring, compassionate and constantly encourages others and motivates people to
try new things and work harder. "
